Description

Watching brief on erection of 19 houses. The foundations were dug without archaeological supervision but the developer "replied in writing, confirming that the foundations for the dwellings had been excavated to a depth of 0.35m into undisturbed natural red sand". JSAC did manage to examine soak away pits and a drainage trench, but saw nothing of archaeological significance (except for P Med well). (1) (2) Grid ref for E end of site, at Park House. See E9249 for Phase 1 Site inspection.
