Description

Watching brief carried out during the earthmoving work. The first phase of excavation was the creation of a settlement lagoon, this comprised a trench 20.60m x 2.20m wide, 0.82m to 0.66m deep. The second phase comprised the excavation of the well head and flow meter chambers, an intermediate manhole and the outfall into the Dover Beck. The final phase of excavation was for the pipe trench. No features or artifacts of archaeological interest were observed during the excavation. (1) Grid ref for Dover Beck.
