Description

Inspection confirmed it would have been premature to walk the freshly ploughed strip. Equally, the S half was too overgrown for adequate survey. Accordingly, a single traverse was made from E - W by two people, followed by a W - E traverse on a random zig zag to sample the remainder of the unploughed area. (1) See E9357 for more systematic fieldwalk, E9358 for trial trenches, E9360 for excavation.
