Description

Controlled and monitored topsoil and subsoil strip, dendrochronological sampling and site recording and survey. Phase 1 ... topsoil and subsoil, including the entire area crossed by the haul road, machine stripped in a controlled manner to expose the timbers buried in the peat and any archaeologically sensitive soil horizons. (1) See E9419 for fieldwalking, E9423 for Phase 2, E9450 for Phase 3.
