Description

The topsoil was stripped off the area of Stage 1 Phase 4 by the developer, this entailed the removal of all material down to the natural sand and gravel. During the stripping an experienced archaeologist monitored activities on the site. Following stripping, time was made available to examine and record all exposed features. Sample sections were then excavated across ditches while other discrete features were half sectioned. (1)
