Description

Construction of 7 residential dwellings on land adjacent to Great North Road, Barnby Moor. Watching brief to be maintained during groundworks. The presence of contaminated ground created through recent past activity on the site meant that approximately 0.5m of topsoil was removed across the S half of the site. Three of the seven house plots were monitored across the site, further monitoring was abandoned due to the negative nature of the soils as well as the extent of groundworks already undertaken. No archaeological features were encountered during the topsoil strip or during groundworks for the dwellings. (1)
