Description

During the course of works to construct a new carpark and play area on the site of the old Newark Cattle Market, a brick vault was uncovered. To investigate the vault, N+SDC commissioned JSAC to undertake the archaeological investigation and recording of the structure. The area to the E and W of the vault was excavated using a 360 degree tracked excavator to reveal the extent and survival of the structure. (1)
