Description

The pipeline route was situated in the centre of town, beginning at the junction of Chancery Lane and Exchange Street. It then ran N along Chancery Lane before traversing the S, W and N sides of the market place. A further section ran S from the market place through Town Hall Yard. A series of access pits were mechanically excavated along the route of the pipeline. All plan and section surfaces were cleaned and examined. 17 pits were monitored. (1)
