Description

The test pit (ref BG13TP1) was a 1x1m square to a depth of 60cm on the lesser green, dug by hand in 10cm spits; all spits were 100% sieved and all spits were recorded on context sheets, including finds. A plan was drawn and photographs taken of spit 4 showing a drain, and a photograph of spit 6 showing a cobbled surface. (1)
