Description

The test pit (ref BG13TP14) was a 1x1m square to a depth of 60cm on the main green, dug by hand in 10cm spits; all spits were 100% sieved and all spits were recorded on context sheets, including finds. A sondage from 60 to 100cms revealed natural red clay. (1)
