Description

A cultural heritage desk-based assessment was undertaken on the site of a proposed Solar Farm to the north of Elton-on-the-Hill, Nottinghamshire. The report includes map regression, walkover of the site, photos of and site maps. There is some recorded evidence of surviving ridge and furrow earthworks within the site, which is also crossed by the surviving ditch of a parish boundary. There is some evidence for Bronze Age activity to the north west of the site. Some Iron Age activity has been to the north and south west of the site. There is some potential for Roman activity around the Village of Orston to the north of the site.
