Description

An enhanced scoping report in relation to a planning application for works at Crankley Point Sewage Treatment Works, Newark on Trent. “The works that form part of the planning application will not impact on any known archaeological sites and will take place in previously disturbed ground”. The recovery of a Neolithic axehead in this area, along with the identification of eleven timber piles in the river immediately to the west, suggests that the archaeological potential associated with this area is good.
