Description

AOC Archaeology has been commissioned by Partnerships in Care Ltd to undertake an archaeological desk-based assessment covering the proposed development at Calverton Hills, Calverton Road, Arnold, Nottinghamshire. The development includes a car park and a 33 bed unit with its proposed location lying partially within the boundary of a designated Scheduled Ancient Monument. A study area of 1km from the centre of the site – HER and other documentary sources were consulted, a map regression exercise and a field walkover took place. The study identifies that there has been significant archaeological activity from pre-history to post-medieval times, especially Iron Age. The report contains historic maps and scheduled ancient monument designation.
