Description

In September 2013 ADAS UK Ltd was commissioned by to assess the potential impact that a proposed turbine development on land east of Tuxford Road, Egmanton, Nottinghamshire. The report contains a map regression exercise and photographs and results of a site visit which took place. The report concludes that the site has low potential for buried archaeological deposits across all periods of archaeology based on the documentary evidence available. It states that the development area has most likely been in use as agricultural fields since at least the medieval period. The report also assess the impact the development would have on the surrounding historic landscape, the following buildings lie in the study area - Gaddick Hill Scheduled Monument, the Grade I Listed Church of St. Mary and Egmanton Conservation Area. The report identi-fies that the development would have a moderate adverse impact on these sites, and would have a minor adverse impact on Grade II Listed North Farmhouse, Egmanton, Moated Fish-pond Complex with Moat, Fishstews, Seven Fishponds with Sluices, Ridge and Furrow and a Leat Scheduled Monument, Laxton Motte and Bailey Castle and associated Medieval and Post-Medieval Manorial Remains, including six fishponds Scheduled Monument.
