Description

Archaeological features of interest were identified in the western part of the land surveyed. 2 large enclosures, smaller internal divisions as well as ditches and pits. There is also evidence of historic ridge and furrow field systems alongside modern field divisions which the results of the survey suggest may have damaged archaeology. Magnetometer Survey identified large and small enclosures, curvilinear ditches and pits. The larger enclosures appear to be differing in dates as the ditches intersect each other. A second enclosure containing internal features and a ditch leading from its south-east corner towards a small enclosure. The report suggests that this smaller enclosure is associated with the larger one as it is a similar alignment. The survey also identified some small ferrous debris on the surface/topsoil, the report suggests that this could be of modern origin. The report contains a site map, and a detailed image of the magnetometer results where the enclosure and ridge and furrow can clearly be seen along with an accompanying interpretation guide.
