Description

The monitored workds covered: the demolition of upstanding structures; the drilling of 4 bore holes to depths of between 3.2m and 3.85m; the excavation by hand of 3 test pits to a depth of 1.45m; ground reduction and removal of previous upstanding wall footings by excavator equipped with 1m wide toothed bucket and 2m wide ditching bucket to depths between 0.3m and 1.6m; excavation of soakaway test pit by excavator to a depth of 2.3m; excavation of footing and services trenches by excavator to a depth of 1.2m. No significant archaeological deposits were exposed during any stage of the monitored works.
