Description

Under a section 52 agreement with Tarmac Roadstone Ltd. the Trust has been undertaking a watching brief at the gravel extraction site just N of Girton. 07/1993 the quarry manager reported an area of burning discovered during topsoil stripping. Test pits were dug and augering was undertaken. 09/1993 a three week excavation was carried out to investigate the burnt material and nearby palaeochannel. (2) See E9073 for continuing WB by TPAT.
