Description

The site is located at The Hawthorns, Hawksworth Road, Syerton in the Newark and Sherwood District of Nottinghamshire. The site is situated on the north-east side of Hawkesworth Road, close to the junction with Moor Lane and Main Street. The archaeological watching brief was carried out on the 29th September 2022. This involved monitoring the drilling of 21 reception pits measuring 0.04m in diameter and up to 0.40m deep. A tapered threaded screw pile was inserted and rotated into the ground. No archaeological features were exposed or archaeological artefacts identified.
