Description

The proposed development site is in a detached industrial area, Boughton Industrial Estate, about 1km southeast of the village centre. The site lies to the southwest of Cocking Hill, the A6075, on the northwest side of Meden Road, centred on SK 6849 6780 and covers an area of approximately 0.31ha. Five trenches were excavated. It was intended that these would each be 20m long. However, due to site constraints, several of the trenches were reduced in length. No archaeological features were observed during this archaeological evaluation. This site was found to have been heavily disturbed by modern activity.
