Description

A metal detecting survey was conducted, targeting the area around the [St Ethelburga] church mound, as a preamble to a secondary survey at some point in the future once a deep plough of the field has been completed. During five visits to the 35 acre field over the course of 23 hours during August and September 2016, 16 artefacts were recorded.
