Description

The site lies to the south of Mansfield Road, Farnsfield, Nottinghamshire. A detailed gradiometry survey was conducted over approximately 4 hectares of arable land. A Bartington Grad 601-2 was used, with a traverse interval of 1m and a sample interval of 0.25m. The survey at Mansfield Road has not identified any anomalies of archaeological origin. There is no evidence of earthworks or field systems, which are recorded in the surrounding area. Modern ploughing across the site is evidence of the area͛s recent agricultural past. The remaining anomalies are modern in origin, relating to ferrous objects and fencing.
