The site is located to the south east of Worksop. The site is bound to the north by the A57,beyond which is Wilkinson’s Distribution Centre and Manton Wood Business Park.The proposed development area comprises arable land, bounded to the south, east and west by plantation woodland known as Manton Wood. The area of investigation is approximately 25.76ha (the southern half of the site being 11.12ha) in size. The archaeological trial trench evaluation comprised the excavation of 17 trenchesmeasuring 30m in length by 2m in width across the southern half of the proposeddevelopment area that measured c.25.76ha. The investigation revealed no significant archaeology.
