Description

The proposed development site is approximately 800m² in extent and is located just to the north west of the village centre. The site is situated on land historically used for agriculture. Two trenches, both 10m x 2m were investigated in order to evaluate the potential for and survival of buried archaeological remains. The trenches were opened under archaeological supervision using a mechanical excavator. They were then cleaned manually and inspected for archaeological remains. This scheme of evaluation trenching concluded without exposing any archaeological features or deposits.
