Description

The area observed was stripped of soil between 23-27th September and 9-11th October 1991. A wide-bladed (3-4m) box-scraper was employed to strip the soil. Monitoring of soil stripping did not reveal any evidence of archaeological contexts. The only artefacts seen were occasional sherds of late C19 and early C20 ceramics; these were not retained. (1) See E497 for fieldwalking, E538 for watching brief to E.
