Description
The site is located close to the centre of Worksop, within the historic core of the town. It is bordered to the north by Newcastle Street, to the east by Watson Road, and to the west by Queen Street.
A hand auger survey was undertaken. Stratigraphic units were to be identified and recorded on borehole record pro-formas. Soil sub-samples were to be retained for further specialist analysis (macrofossils, pollen, invertebrates) or scientific dating (radiocarbon) if possible or necessary.
All sediments and features encountered closely match previous descriptions of the Edlington Formation and Lenton Formation.
