Description
Three 5 x 5m and one 12.5 x 2m evaluation trenches were excavated within the cropmark complex. A further evaluation trenches were located around the periphery of the cropmarks. The purpose of these was to established the extent of the site. All trenches were machine dug after which the sides and floor were cleaned by hand. Trenches 1, 4, and 5 were 100 x 2m, whilst Trenches 2 and 3 were 50 x 2m. (1)
