Description
Within fields to the east and south of Worksop Sewerage Treatment Works, on the eastern outskirts of Worksop. The majority of the proposed access road lies to the south of the Chesterfield Canal.
Technique: Magnetometer
Instrument: Bartington Grad 601-2
Traverse Interval: 1m
Sample Interval: 0.25m
South of the canal a pair of enclosures have been detected, along with a band of postulated pits which may be associated with a track. Throughout the survey areas tentative pit-like responses can be seen, although weaker in magnetic strength than the aforementioned anomalies.
Modern ploughing trends are visible throughout, along with ferrous responses which are associated with metal fencing, the canal, a foul sewer and ferrous debris.
