A geophysical survey was undertaken on land at Caudwell Road, Mansfield, Nottinghamshire, in fulfilment of a planning condition ahead of the construction of a new college campus. The c. 6 hectare survey area is just south of the present college site. Two anomalies are worthy of note. In the western area, three parallel diagonal positive anomalies were recorded. These are most likely to be field drains and therefore of low archaeological interest. In the cnetral area, a subcircular weak positive anomaly of a c.5m diameter was recorded. Accurate characterisation of this anomaly is not possible from the geophysical survey, but it is possible that this is a feature of archaeological interest.
