Description

The site forms a roughly L–shaped area of approximately 3000 square metres and is located towards the centre of Bingham, between numbers 59 and 61 on the north side of Long Acre at the rear of the Chesterfield Arms The archaeological monitoring was undertaken during all topsoil and subsoil stripping and included the archaeological monitoring of excavation works for all services including access road, drainage works and manhole. Stripped areas and sections were observed regularly to identify and record archaeological features that were exposed and to record the changes in the geological conditions.
