Description

The site was investigated using hand excavated trial trenches which were then manually back filled. The location of the trenches was determined by the results of the topographical survey. Trench 5 was located 7m to the S of Trench 2 and was excavated in an attempt to clarify the features observed in the former and/or define a boundary. The trench was orientated E-W with a length of 3m and width of 1m. (1) NB Plan in (1) is inadequate, NGR estimated, 7m S of Trench 2. Trenches located between trackway and cliff edge. Date in excavation Index was given as 1991. (2) See E2549 for Trench 1, E129 for Trench 2, E8010 for Trench 3, E8108 for Trench 4.
