Description

From 1919 onwards, T.W. Armitage, a retired surveyor and a keen numismatist, started to investigate the area. Much of this material went to Leicester Museum, but his coin collection was sold or given away by him after c. 1946. As much of his pottery as could be recovered is now in the Nottingham Castle Museum. (1) Grid ref estimated from descriptions.
