Description

Exavation due to the development of a large car park at the corner of Lombard Street and St Mark's Lane. It was decided to excavate mechanically an area 50m E of St Mark's Lane and as close to the Lombard Street frontage as possible as a preliminary to excavation by hand (7 trenches in total). (1) See E89 for 1976 excavation.
