Description

A watching brief was maintained during the excavation of 24 trenches for road sign foundations along the A46 and B687 at the site of the Romano-British town of Margidunum. All the trenches were dug manually by the contractors, supervised by archaeologists who cleaned and examined each trench. (1) Grid ref for Roman town.
