Full Description

Fieldwalking revealed a significant concentration of flintwork in fields 194B and 196, immediately S and N of the Saxondale roundabout. A total of 81 artefacts was recovered, including an oblique arrowhead and scrapers which would fit most plausibly into a later Neo or earlier BA context. There is a sharp reduction in density of flints in adjacent fields, suggesting that this area might mark an activity focus of some kind. (1)
Grid ref centred - maps show scatter both sides of road.
