Full Description

South of Gedling Wood Farm is an area of ridge and furrow. Associated with this is a 10m wide linear bank that divides the area in two and acts as a boundary between furlongs. This may be a track. To the SE of this are ridge and furrow, two large elongated mounds and, running parallel, a narrowing linear hollow. On the hillside to the south, including within the woods, are ridge and furrow and furlong boundary banks. Two 20m wide, 2m high linear banks are present within the woods in the east. These are similar to the examples at Gonalston and Widmerpool. There is a steep drop to the south that suggests quarrying. (1)
