Full Description

A former army camp used from 1940 - c1960. The camp has now totally disappeared. The only clue to the existence of the camp is a small amount of concrete/brick rubble on the S boundary of the new housing estate. The camp was auctioned off £31,500 in January 1963 [possibly some huts and other buildings, which were sold off, survive at other locations]. The camp was demolished in the early 1960s, and is now the site of an housing estate. (1)
