Full Description

The old WW1 airfield had anti-landing obstacles - poles - set at intervals all over it in order to prevent landings. Later these were removed and ditches dug on the field. Along all the verges of the roads near the airfield were corrugated, open ended, iron shelters in which ammunition boxes were stored. (1)
