Full Description

In field V a 6 x 1m trench was excavated across a former hedge-line. Part of a pit was located at the western end of the trench. The pit appeared as a dark stain in the yellow sand starting approximately 0.78m below the present ground surface. Finds included flint flakes, a flint core, and a tiny fragment of pottery. The morphology of the flakes and the potsherd suggested a Later Neolithic / Early Bronze Age date for the pit. (1)
