Full Description

In field V a 6 x 1m trench was excavated across an area which had produced numerous prehistoric and Roman surface finds. Here, the plough-soil covered a shallow layer containing mixed Romano-British and prehistoric material. Just over 50 flint artefacts were found in the plough-soil and a further 52 (including a serrated blade, two retouched blades and a scraper) below the plough-soil. (1)
