Full Description

In the north-east corner of the site, the removal of the topsoil revealed the remains of a rectangular structure 6.0m x 4.5m. This structure was aligned north-south along its longer axis. Minimum evidence for walls remained, possible due to robbing of the stone and/or partial removal by mechanical excavator during topsoil removal. Two of the surviving stones from the wall were worked and suggest that the structure was internally faced. This was the earliest feature present and probably dates to the 1800s. (1)
See L10897-8 for other structures.
