Full Description

Two features were recorded on the western side of the site, approximately three metres from the rear wall of the existing Kwik Save building. The first was a rectangular brick structure 6.70m x 1.85m, the brick work being two courses wide and bonded with cement mortar. Further examination revealed the remains of a vaulted brick roof. Internally the structure was 1.40m deep from the point where the vaulting began. Its base was of brick, bonded with a cement mortar. It can be interptreted as a storage tank, probably for water. Its low height (even with its vaulted roof intact), its narrow width and the lack of an access point, render it impractical for any use other than that of water storage. (1)
See L10896 and L10898 for other structures.
