Full Description

In area 20 there was a seemingly N-S aligned linear feature, a small ditch or gulley containing animal bone and shell tempered pottery. It cut through two earlier features of undistinguishable form and function. Three post holes were also revealed. Truncated by post medieval disturbance, (two of them) cut into the medieval feature and may be late medieval. The other contained bricks and appeared to be cut into the foundation trench of the Grammar School wall, maybe a scaffold setting. (1)
See L11234 for Med features in main excavation, L11241.2 for wall foundations.
