Full Description

Trench 07. A large circular cropmark thought to be a well or very large pit within the enclosure complex … The pit was defined by a stiff pinkish clay containing large pieces of charcoal, occasional pieces of bone and numerous fragments of modern brick and tile. Given the nature and date of the finds and the stiff clay fill suggesting a deliberate capping, 0002 was interpreted as a possible modern animal burial pit and so further excavation was halted. (1)
See L1777 for Ro enclosure complex.
