Full Description

Four features were recorded in the sides of the stripped area. Features 0011 and 0012 were c.2m wide and 1m deep from the top of the modern topsoil. Feature 0013 was c.3.5m wide and 1.4m deep, while 0014 was c.1.5m wide and 0.5m deep. The steep sided form of 0011 and 0012 could suggest pits. The fills of 0013 suggest a ditch. These ditches are substantial enough to register as cropmarks, though none have been recorded in the quarry area. No artefacts were recovered from the fills. (1)
Grid ref centred on southerly group (0011, 0012).
See L11224 and L11786 for nearby excavated features, M4852 for adjacent cropmarks.
