Full Description

Pipeline trench A2. A number of amorphous patches of charcoal and ash up to 3m across and c.0.04m deep were excavated and found to be very shallow. They appeared to constitute spreads of refuse or the residue of fires. A pit containing evidence of in-situ burning was exposed towards the W end of area A2. It appeared to be in excess of 0.2m in depth and c 2.0m from E to W. No dating evidence was recovered. (1)
