Full Description
Fieldwalking, fields II, 5600 and 7300. A surprisingly large amount of struck flintwork (35 pieces) was recovered. It included cores, flakes, a side scraper fragment, a spall from a retouched implement, and a burnt primary flake that had possibly come off a hammerstone. One flake may have been struck from a discoid core or bifacial piece: it is in a flint sometimes selected for Neolithic choice implements. One edge and one crested core rejuvenation flakes. A fair proportion are burnt, all from field 5600. (1)
See L11857 for lithics from field I, the total number of pieces listed above includes this field.
See L11853 for fire-cracked pebbles, L11858 for Roman pottery, L11859 for Med pottery, L11860 for P Med pottery..
