Full Description

Fieldwalking. Nineteen sherds of medieval pottery were recovered, the majority from field 5600, three sherds from 7300 and a single sherd from field II. One sherd of Stamford ware in 7300, further possible Stamford ware sherd from 5600 (see also L11858). Most of the sherds are small and well weathered, possibly representing manuring. The numerous sherds of Midland Purple and the occasional Cistercian sherd, though collected are not included in the distribution plot. (1)
