Full Description
Ditch cut 103 was found on the southern part of the site, with c 14m of the feature being exposed by the removal of the topsoil. This was a linear feature, with a max width at the surface of 1.1m, and a max depth of 0.27m, rounded base. Four sherds of pottery were recovered from the central section, probably late IA in date, but the pieces were small abraded body sherds and not readily diagnostic. (The excavators speculate on an IA field system, based on alignment with other ditches.) (1)
See L3011 for nearby cropmarks. See L11863 for IA pottery from topsoil, L11861 for medieval pottery and xrefs. See L12048, L12049 for further features from watching brief.
