Full Description
Hedgerow 13 possessed a slight bank less than 1m at the base. In Area B, a linear bank aligned N-S surviving to a height of 0.2m, extended for c.70m. Hedgerow 6 has a substantial bank measuring up to 1m in height and up to 1.5m wide at the top. The species count is high (including a very old Yew tree) suggesting that both hedge and bank are of some antiquity. E [sic, means W] of the farm earthworks representing ridge and furrow. Continued down slope towards Gilt Beck. A series of depressions to the E of Gilt Beck, measuring up to 3.5m in diameter and cut to a depth of up to 1m. A second group in the adjacent field to the N, all roughly circular. They may represent old workings of some form. A sub-rectangular feature, 7.5m E-W and c 10m N-S with external banks rising to a height of 1m (just to NW of farm buildings). (1)
