Full Description

Enclosures and linear features. Site centres on large irregular enclosure around subrectangular enclosure with ring ditch inside. (1)
Perambulated with the landowner/farmer, now under sugar beet. No surface finds were made and there are no surface indications of the marks which, the owner pointed out, fall on the W extremity of the red clay in the area, hence non-productive for a light cereal crop (barley was planted in 1967 when Pickering photographed). The situation is high with good all round visibility; the enclosures were possibly originated for some stock purposes at an unknown period. (2)
Morph: 230.1.1 unknown prehistoric farmstead, 230.1.2 unknown prehistoric track. (3)
See L 8049-51 for finds, L 1235 for fieldwalking. Grid ref centred.
